2015 in review

Well, the year began with the craziness of preparing to send a kid to college. We are very, very thankful for TOPS and other scholarships, but the amount of paperwork it takes to accept funding is not for the faint of heart!

Megan enjoyed her senior year, accepting scholarship offers – although I’m not sure why we applied anywhere but University of Louisiana, Lafayette. UL has been in her heart for a long time! She made friends at early placement testing in the Happiest City in America!

Officially old enough to attend the Romany Ball for Mardi Gras, Megan enjoyed dancing with her friend, Evan, and we all had a nice night (once we got through BR Traffic.

Jordan’s birthday celebration coincided with Easter and included a crawfish boil and shared strawberry cake with Aunt Terrie - the beauty of April birthdays. My baby is officially a teenager! Spring also brought on volleyball and volunteering at school.

Megan’s senior trip was an amazing Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. Beautiful scenery and amazing cuisine. We didn’t get relaxed down to Bahamian time (with mail arriving home two weeks after we did), but we did relax and enjoy cruise time together, “Aargh!”

Megan made her farewell performance for CYT Baton Rouge in a 70’s-themed recital and as Dame Gothel, the witch in Rapunzel – her favorite type of role – belting it out and drawing out the death scene for some extra laughs.  Her portrayal of Wild Bird for her senior performance was indeed wild.  Megan also went to CYT National Expo in California for some extra training and performance time.

Jordan got in her theater time in her school’s production of High School Musical. She contributed her voice and great facial expressions as a Brainiac. She also contributed her beautiful soprano during the spring chorale production, taking awards as top choir student.

Graduation was an emotional night – all of the platitudes are true – it was just yesterday that Megan started kindergarten!

We enjoyed seeing family over the summer as well as the fireworks downtown from on top of Tsunami – very cool view.

Back to school came too soon – Megan moving into her “hotel” dorm room and Jordan beginning 8thgrade at Christian Life Academy.

Charlie and I are fortunate enough to still cross paths for work on occasion, and we greatly enjoy serving on the CYT (Christian Youth Theater) Board together – in its 3rd Season.

We are so thankful for all of the support from our family and friends (people and puppies). Keep us in your prayers!

Love,
Charlie, Wynne, Megan and Jordan
And Daisy
